Be Very Careful

I bought a van from GMC earlier this year, and as many others have said, he seemed pretty good with his customer service. Unfortunately all that changed when I removed the ply lining and floor from the van and discovered it had significant damage from an impact to the rear. Whoever had done the repair had done just enough to cover it up, but a terrible job of fixing the damage. All up, there was c.£5000 of hidden damage to the vehicle, none of which GMC mentioned when asked. What ensued were months of being messed about by GMC and a bogus report from his mates bodyshop. Just as I was about to initiate court proceedings, he offered a full refund for the van. Though at this stage the Covid driven surge in camper-van buyers had pushed the value to a point where his offer would see me lose, again. I wouldn't touch this place again, and if you do, don't expect GMC to meet his obligations under the Consumer Rights Act.
