Avoid at all costs

My bought a Land Rover Freelander from this car dealer. Three and a half months later the exhaust fell off. We took the car to our garage to be repaired. Upon inspection it was revealed the the bit of the chassis that the exhaust bolts to, was rotten. Also there were exhaust fumes coming into the cab. We had a couple of quotes to get it repaired and the cheapest was nearly £2000 pounds (she paid £3500 for the car). We contacted Nigel Bowden who told us to bring the car to one of his smaller, rougher looking car sales plots. He didn't show up but sent one of his staff to inspect it. His man had a look underneath and then informed us that we had a problem. He informed us that as the vehicle had been owned by wife for over 3 months that Nigel Bowden wasn't going to do anything to sort the problem out. When the man Nigel sent to inspect the Freelander was leaving, he leaned out of his car window and reminded my wife that this was the chance she took, in buying a used car. He was smirking as he drove off. Due to the fumes coming into the cab she couldn't use the car. She was reduced to selling the car for £1200. We have reported him to the DVLA and the Police. There was very little they could do except keep their eye on him. It's been very difficult to find a way of leaving a review on him. I was unable to leave a review on Google, ebay and auto trader. There are some really good second hand car dealers out there. This guy is not one of them do not trust him. If you do have to buy a car off him please take an experienced mechanic or get the AA/RAC to insect the vehicle. My wife was so upset. Note; date of purchase is approximate. The vehicle was purchased in the middle of 2019
