My daughter recently purchased a car from JMR. I left the purchase to her and my son. They came back very excited after putting down a large deposit on a car. I went with my son to collect it and the first thing I asked about was the service. I was told only the oil and oil filter are changed. I was a bit disappointed about this because I wanted to make sure the car was safe for a new and nervous driver so I decided I would have to pay for a full service when we took delivery. As we had no service history at all I wanted to make sure the car was safe. I noticed during the sale that the warranty was not mentioned, this made me suspicious and I questioned it and we were given a card with a telephone number on it. I tried to activate the warranty straightaway but could not get through with the telephone number there was just an e mail address. I asked them about the warranty and they said that the garage should register the car but the car we had purchased was to old for a warranty anyway. I asked the company if JMR would have known this when they sold the car but I have not received a reply. The service did reveal a couple of things that had to be rectified straightaway including a seriously corroded brake pipe. I have had to pay for this work but I am thankful the bill was not massive because I would have had no warranty. I just found this very disappointing. I emailed JMR but apart from asking for the car registration I have had no response. My family have always purchased second hand cars with a warranty and full service check so I would just be careful when buying cars from this garage.
