Very disappointing visit
Emailed the dealership for photos of the car my daughter was interested in , they were sent through. Emailed again asking to test drive the car the following day, no reply. Called them in the morning and spoke with Ian , the manager, who apologised and said we could come along for a test drive. We arrived and were greeted by an older gentleman who seemed friendly and sat us down, gave my daughter the keys so that she could go and sit in the car, the car was not ready to test drive. We did that and then were told that Colin would be taking over. I expressed concern to Colin about the dog smell and hair all over the seats and carpets, the amount of scuffs and scratches on the bodywork and the scratches on the plastic inside. His reply “it is a second hand car”. He then removes the car and drives it to the other side of the forecourt with no mention of what would happen next.He then tells us there is no fuel in the car and he needs to go for fuel. When we came back Colin was with customers and the manager Ian came over and asked us what we thought,I mentioned the things I said to Colin and he basically said nothing . I could go on and on but too much to say. I was so disappointed in our treatment on the day. Was it because we were looking for a second hand car or the fact it would be a cash sale or the fact we were 3 woman that we did not get the customer service I have come to expect when visiting other dealerships?. This was my daughters first experience of buying a car from a dealership and she feels that she does not want to do it again. Businesses should take heed my daughter may not be able to have a brand new car now but she could have been one of your returning future customers buying a brand new car every few years for many years to come if she had been treated differently.
