Went to look at a 3 series BMW at HM car sales also know as Winston Motors Ltd. The car looks really good and I thought for the price may be too good to be true. When I first went to look they were very helpful. The car seemed great and there were a few things that needed doing before I took the car, including the rear window where the arm which pushed the window out to open it was broken which I told would be fixed. My Dad then put a fairly large deposit down, big mistake. I went to pick up the car three days later on the Saturday, but when I arrived was told it wasn't there, it was still in the garage which was doing the repairs and since it was a religious holiday he would not open the garage to give them the car. When I asked why they didn't pick the car up on the Friday they simply said they forgot. I went to collect my car the following Monday in my lunch hour. I phoned in the morning to say I would be coming at a specific time. When I arrived at lunch to collect the car was STILL not there, and was told one of the guys was on his way back from collecting it. He then walked in fifteen minutes later with a loaf of bread in a sainsburys bag, which I believe he had used my car to go and collect- VERY unprofessional. When I looked at the car it was dirty, had muddy foot prints I it and instead of fixing th back window arm as they had said, they merely glued a copper pipe to it so that it would open and shut, but certainly was not fixed as stated. When questioned about this the man there became very aggressive and said we were being picky and judging the car, and that to fix he window would cost around £250 which we could not expect them to pay for the amount I had bought the car for. I have since looked and the part for the window is £12 on eBay.. Despite all of this I had put a deposit down on the car so there was little I could do. I signed the paperwork and took the car away. On the way back to my work three engine lights came on. When taken to a garage the ABS sensor needed replacing. This seemed far too much of a coincidence. Because of the bad service and failure to fulfil their promises my trust in this garage was low and so I took it to another car garage and had it MOT'd. The whole front suspension needed replacing. Overall the service was disgraceful and although they were polite and helpful on first visit, once they had the money they quickly changed and did not fulfil their promise to fix the car in order for me to take away. Would advise anyone to avoid.
