Buyer beware (Hyundai Getz KN52 OKC)

I visited in Feb 2020 to see a Red Hyundai Getz priced at £2250. The car was described as in 'very good condition throughout' - I spoke with Martyn on the telephone - he did not disclose any bodywork damage. I went see the car. It had extensive damage to both rear wheel arches. How he considers it acceptable to not disclose that I do not understand. I got irrelevant 'its an old car' spiel. Typical used car salesman, I guess. To be fair the car drove ok. Upon further inspection, it was clear the oil under the filler on the rocker cover was emulsifying profusely. Classic sign of cylinder head gasket failure (he blamed moisture - don't believe him!). He said he would 'get it checked' on Monday. By 11am Monday he was on the phone telling me the car was fine but told me not to bother and look elsewhere. So the car is still there, still for sale. No doubt he will wipe the oil cap clean before some poor soul buys it to end up with a load of grief and expense. Good cars are out there - we brought an immaculate 03 Getz with 18K miles and one owner for £2000 - just not at Martyn's Car Sales. Martyn has no morals and no honesty. Avoid at all cost.
