As a UK Paramedic, I returned to the UK to assist with the Covid crisis and needed a reliable car urgently to get to work. I contacted Alan Davies Car Sales about a car. I asked extensive questions as I could not inspect the car myself due to lock down, I was assured it was immaculate, the best available. They had a 'local' Garage inspect the car (Prestige Motors). Alan Davies Car Sales also Prestige Motors so unsurprisingly the garage stated the car was in 'great' condition. On delivery it was full of dents and scratches, massive rust underneath, recently sprayed with underseal, strong smell of petrol around vehicle with likely porous fuel tank and lines. On poking rust to the front suspension turrets a large hole appeared instantly. This car is not safe, not roadworthy and would fail an MOT. They promised a full refund of deposit several times and then refused 9 days later. Legal action has begun. DVSA, Trading Standards and Police are involved. Press to run story.
