Great initial experience

I bought an XJ portfolio 2012 from Warrington Jag Centre and was offered at what I felt was a sound price in August 2019. While the showroom's not much to look at and there aren't many staff in sight it made me think that the shiny showrooms of the dealerships with people wandering around seemingly not doing a great deal is what accounts for the higher prices charged there. In any event, t's not the number of people but the quality of engagement with the customer that counts and here I found Warrington Jag to be beyond reproach. Ali first showed me round the car and gave me as much time as I wanted to check it over and ensure everything was functional. I then booked a test drive and met Ken, the owner. His approach mirrored that of Ali, no sales pressure, no pushing to make a decision before leaving the showroom. Ken responded positively to my request to try a different variety of roads and agreed to rectify some minor paint chips and some kerb burn on the alloys. were I to go ahead with the sale. He would also replace two dubious tyres though I did pay a supplement for premium replacements. There would also be an MOT and an oil change. I secured the deal but within a fortnight noticed some noise coming from the AC compressor. I returned the car and it was looked over by Jagman next door. It appears that this is a common problem with the model (it's now 7 years old) and nothing could be done so I agreed to live with it for a while and see if it got any worse as it really is only a minor irritant. So, that's the story after 4 months. The car really is fantastic, the welcome at the showroom was genuinely friendly from all (including Lynn, Ken's mum, and the fish!) and I got the impression they were genuinely keen to do the right thing for the customer. In addition the major and minor service charges quoted by the Jagman garage next door were very reasonable. So, my overall experience of buying at the Warrington Jag Centre is positive and I'm pleased with the quality of what they sold me. The only slight question mark remains over the compressor noise and we'll have to see how this pans out over time.
