Extra work outside of service costs £££.
A service which always becomes more expensive. I took out a pay monthly service plan with Winchester Motor Company hoping that a regular 6 monthly service would keep my car in good working order. My issue isn't with the service, facilities or response but with the cost for extra items not covered in the service. My last visit to the garage (major service) found that my air conditioning compressor was leaking coolant and so the part needed replacing. I was told it was advisable not to drive. Investigation and replacement would cost over £1500.00 with two days work needed. 10% was offered if I wanted to get it done straight away which was advisable. £150 off - really? Luckily my brother is a mechanic and told me how long it should take (2-3hrs) and the same part could be purchased online for less than £150. In all the job if at £100/hr would only cost less that £450. It is shocking that a company can pray on people like this - a modern day form of extortion. I wouldn't recommend anything outside of the standard service from them for that reason.
