Brand new car needs engine rebuild

My Nan bough a brand new Hyundai i10 from Staceys Motors Bridgwater a little over a year ago. 2 months after buying the car she had to return as the car had no oil. The sales executive she dealt with try to pull the wool over her eyes by saying the oil was so clear that you wouldn’t be able to see it that why it appeared to have no oil even though they put a whole new litre in there. Returned on another 2 occasions with the same issue. Once they actually investigated it any further and put a bit of effort in they figured the car needed a new piston which would require a whole engine rebuild on a car which is 1 year old from factory. Even though the fault was present when the car was purchased they refuse to give her a refund or another brand new one. It’s proven the fault was present at point of purchase due to the face the only reason there was no oil in the car was due to the piston burning it however they will still not refund her back her money. This is not what you should expect from a car just over a year old, a whole engine rebuild. The level of service when she was first going in was appalling and as soon as the deals done and the figures are invoices off for the month is all they care about. When you go back with a problem they try to avoid it for as long as possible until action is needed and they’re in a position to do so.
