Diagnostic charge for Recall issues

Canterbury Nissan does all the right things but service department has little idea of ethical practice with regards to refund of £204 charge for a National recall fault. Praise for Nissan as a brand though - the central (National) team refunded the outrageous charges made by their dealer (they would have refunded the garage directly if they had bothered to ask). Nissan Canterbury have no Complaints procedure and it appears that decisions are made 'on the fly' by a single service manager with no opportunity for negotiation, evaluation or explanation. Very poor practice - now looking for a different garage to deal with Nissan car servicing. Poor customer relations have not only lost the dealership a potential customer for services but also for car upgrade (and my recommendations to a whole host of friends, acquaintances and colleagues). Sadly it seems that this sort of learning experience for the garage service department is not grasped for customer relations satisfaction and internal training.
