Appalling service

I had been a customer with Audi for over 20 years and a customer at this particular dealership for about 8 years. I bought a used vehicle from them recently and can say that the service level was 'as expected' right up until collecting the vehicle. However; after driving the vehicle away, I notified them immediately that I had concerns with the way it drove. The vehicle was not clean either inside and the windows and controls were quite greasy. The vehicle was tested the following day by a 'master technician' and they agreed the car should be returned for inspection and remedial works. The vehicle was obviously not checked prior to my collection despite their claims that every used vehicle undergoes a rigorous check, it's simply not true and a false claim. That was over 3 weeks ago. They haven't been able to find a replacement vehicle either (something they advertise they will do if they are unable to remedy the problems) and since advising of a full refund I've not heard from anyone at the dealership in several days, they seem to have buried their heads in the sand and can't even be bothered to pick up the telephone or email and keep me updated with their plan to resolve this unacceptable situation. If you're looking at buying a used vehicle, I most certainly do not recommend Hitchin Audi at this time, and feel that other people should be aware of their practices.
