Caveat Emptor!

We bought a vechicle from 4Lands of Carluke back in spring, but we have been met with lies, false promises and dishonesty. Personally speaking, I myself wouldn't have touched a place like this with a barge pole, as I had Glen sussed out within 5 seconds of meeting him, and found his behaviour towards me rather inappropriate by hugging me, but hubby wanted a truck they had for sale so I said nothing. Anyway, Glen told us the car we were trading in wouldn't be worth much, and gave us some sob story that he would be sending it to auction as he ' wouldn't make anything on it, it would be hard to resell and didn't want the agro of trying to sell it on his forecourt' LIES, the car was on his forecourt days later selling for almost 3x the price he gave us for it, and it's since been sold! Before buying the vechicle we decided on from him, my husband stated he wanted a rear cab for it, to have the air con fixed and the sat nav operational, all of which we were assured would be done, along with fixing other smaller issues, at no extra charge, and would be completed when vechicle was ready for pick up. On picking the vechicle up we were told they had a rear cab for it, however, it wouldn't be delivered for a few days. Meanwhile on driving the car home I noticed the sat nav in fact hadn't been fixed, neither was the air con. We decided to wait until we went back to get the cab fitted to raise these issues. After not hearing from them in over a week my husband had to call to find out when the cab would be delivered, initially we were told the 1st one 'arrived broken' so they wouldn't give us that, a week or so later, and after us having to call them again, were told they had one for us, when we went to get it fitted, it looked like something they found in a scrap yard, it was scratched, ill fitting and scruffy looking, but my husband being desperate for the cab, accepted it. But it was then we were told we had to pay a £150 courier fee for it being delivered from "Manchester". I questioned this, as there were no mention of any charges at all previously , so I asked over Facebook messenger for them to provide me with the courier receipt to verify the charge, they refused to provide us with this, so we refused to pay the charges without seeing the receipt first, were still waiting to see it. I don't believe for a minute this was delivered by a courier, but actually either bought from a local scrap yard, or was on another vehicle he had got in and tried to get even more money out of us by creating some nonsense about courier delivery costs! We mentioned the air con and sat nav still weren't working, Glen tried to look shocked(but failed) claiming he 'paid a garage £55 to recharge the air con' LIES.If that was the case they would have saw the pipe for the air con was actually broken, hence why it didn't work so it was nothing to do with it needing recharging that concluded me to believe it wasn't even looked at in the first place. He also started fiddling with the buttons of the console screen saying 'the sat nav should work as I installed the disk for it myself' He claimed he would try and borrow another CD from a fellow car salesperson and get back to us, despite several Facebook messages to them, they don't seem to be able to locate this illusive CD. Why? Because that's LIES too, that sat nav isn't installed by a disk, but actually by a USB drive that you buy a subscription for from the manufacturer! So he didn't "install the CD himself" like he claimed. We, over time, also noted the other things under the bonnet he claimed he had "fixed" but were actually doctored to look like they were fixed. Same with the scratches Glen claimed would be 'repainted at the body shop' when in fact they were only covered with some sort of silicone polish to give the impression they were professionally removed. Long and short of it is, they try to scam more money out of you, they make promises they don't keep and tell whoppers of lies. I know all 2nd hand car sales people tell lies, but this creep takes the biscuit. . We would never use again, and have warned all our 4wd friends about them too. I would award them 0 stars if it was possible.
