Bad attitude

On 1st March I bought a used VW Golf. I was told I had 3 months warranty. On 20th May I txt Andy to inform him that the ACC was not working. He called me back and said he could not do anything without seeing the car as he wasn't sure if there was cruise control on the car or if I wasn't operating it correctly. I told him that I would make enquiries and would call him back. I phoned one of the main VW Dealers and was told there was ACC on my car. I was also told that I was operating it correctly. I called Andy on 24th May and told him all this. He told me he could nothing for at least 2 weeks and to call him back in 2 weeks. I said that the car would be out of warranty and he said not to worry he would cover the cost. He said he had a lot of work booked out for the next 2 weeks but he'd look at it. I asked him how long he would need the car and he said it could take anything up to 2 weeks because the parts might need to be ordered from Germany and he recently had an Audi for 3 weeks waiting for the ACC to be repaired. I explained I am a 2.5 hour drive from him and I would have to take a day off work to take the car down and get someone to come and bring me home thats another 2.5 hour drive. I would then have to repeat this again to collect the car. I paid a lot of money for this car and expected better service. I left my car into the VW dealer close to me and they diagnosed a broken and badly bent bracket. This was fitted and recallibrated at a total cost of £255-15. When I rang Andy he was less than happy - why should he pay for this when he didnt know what was wrong, he wasnt paying another garage to carry out repairs on his behalf. It sounded like he didnt take the word of a main VW Dealer. This dealer didnt have to send to Germany for the part! I tried to explain that the reason I took the car to the VW dealer was that it was closer to home and I wouldnt have to take 2 days off work. He was not willing to see my side and he didnt care that by taking the car back to him was going to cost me a lot of money and I was possibly going to be without a car for 2 weeks. Not a very nice side to Andy when it comes to asking for warranty. BE WARNED - buy from someone closer to home and someone willing to accept your word!!
