good car but service record not complete

I purchased a skoda Octavia VRS in March and am pleased with the car up to now BUT on checking the service record there was no mention that the cam belt had been changed - I contacted Southgrove and was told that it probably wasn't due yet and offered no further assistance - as the car was nearly 7 years old I made enquiries and the consensus is that it should be changed at 5 years - in view of the damage that would be caused by a broken cam belt it was a no brainer that I had to get it done which cost me £320
