A terrible experience!

I purchased a vehicle found on autotrader, I travelled from Spain to collect it and was assured it would have 12 months MOt and had been checked and serviced before pick up. Within 7 days a fluid leak occurred, the car was taken to a dealer in Spain, they discovered a number of issues, the most serious being badly worn brakes! I contacted Car Hub, they denied all knowledge of the issues but offered to take the car back and refund me the amount paid minus 500 for mileage covered, or they would have a look at see if they could repair it. Due to the issue with the brakes I was advised not to drive 700 miles to return the car, so had to proceed with the work in Spain. I was offered 400 towards the 1700 bill!! The only option was the small claims route! I was offered 500 during the mediation process, so it went to court in December 2018, I won as the judge agreed that a vehicle with 12 months Mot and costing over 10k shouldn’t have this type of fault so early on! The only honourable thing Car Hub did was pay the full amount within 14 days, but this is a legal requirement. I was initially happy with the service, but the test of good service is how things are dealt with when there is an issue. Car Hub failed to work within the consumer goods act and dragged the case out for 10 months knowing full well that they were in the wrong. Don’t be fooled by the no nonsense trust me approach, avoid this garage at all costs! Car Hub London on this occasion were true to the stereotype, second hand car dealers at their worst ! If you buy a car, get it checked independently before you hand over the cash, lesson learnt for me !
