Dishonest and deceitful!
Don't believe what the staff at Kia Sandicliffe in Nottingham tell you! I was interested in a used Kia Sorento and after agreeing to put a deposit down and whilst getting my payment details ready, in less than 30 mins they decided to take a deposit from someone else! After that party pulled out (I should have taken the hint) I re-confirmed the condition of the car with the salesman and specifically asked about any scratches, dents and/or damage, to which I was told the car was in immaculate condition given it had less than 5,000 miles on the clock. I therefore put my deposit down. On the basis of the feedback and after arranging childcare for 2 of my young children, I agreed to travel almost 200 miles to see the car and upon seeing the car I quickly realised it wasn't in the condition that was stated. Both the side-steps had dents in them, the chrome-trim around the entire car looked as though it was rusting and the steering wheel and gear stick were excessively worn. Despite the condition the salesman continued to try and force the sale through by stating that there wasn't much time until the showroom closed. After pointing out the issues I was told to try and get them resolved myself using the Kia warranty which I refused and suggested that they replace the side-steps and chrome trim themselves. They agreed to look into it and come back to me. To make matters worse the salesman forgot to return my driving licence to me leaving me without my licence for over a week (although this was returned promptly by post). It took a number of days for an answer on the damage and in the case of the chrome they decided to have it cleaned and not replaced as had been agreed. I therefore withdrew my interest. I subsequently emailed them numerous times asking for my deposit back given the car was not in the condition stated and the repairs were not carried out as agreed and weeks later I received a response to say that would not be returning the deposit because they had carried out work on the car, meaning they wanted to cover their costs! Well what about the costs I incurred and the time I wasted coming to see a car that was not as advertised?!? In summary the experience from start to finish was terrible!
