How things change from one deal to next!
I have purchased several vehicles from Arnold Clark over the years, 5 in eight years to be precise . All have been good up to my most recent acquisition which was nothing short of appalling. I ordered a 66 plate Peugeot Partner with 14000 miles on the clock several months ago and was told I would have to wait a week which suited me fine. I got a call a week later to say my van was ready so I went to pick it up. Big mistake. I saw that the vehicle was damaged on the nearside and went into the salesman who knew nothing about it stating that the damage must have been done post delivery. He know nothing about the broken drivers door mirror either, I reluctantly agreed to take it and arranged a date for it to be returned for repair the following week, which I did. I set the odometer to zero as I do everyday and was told it would be repaired within 24 hours. Seven days later it was back in their garage having done 97 miles and again I was told it was all ready. Wrong!!! The van was filthy and the inside cab was covered in a white powder, presumably where the paint sprayer hadn't bothered to close the windows or cover the dash. His white footprints were everywhere, I took it away after having words with the Manager who apologised but admitted that he had not checked the vehicle. I was offered a valet and money for a hired vehicle which I had paid for whilst the repairs were completed. I waited months for the service manual to be delivered and only received it last week. The National Service Manager I will say was brilliant and phoned me on several occasions. Very disappointed with the treatment overall I received being a long standing customer. I will not be returning .
