I would never buy a car from Ashley Auto
A few years back I purchased a Fiat 500 from Ashley Autos. Unfortunately when we arrived to view the car at the arranged time we had missed the pre—viewing warm up and the clouds of smoke billowing out of the exhaust pipe (which we discovered when we got the car home). On the test drive the seller was a bit paranoid about the small amount of smoke coming out of the rear of the car. Having previously owned another Fiat 500 I knew that a little exhaust smoke is to be expected. Unfortunately the alarm bells weren't ringing. We were told that this was the first Fiat 500 he'd sold so he wasn't sure about it. I needed a replacement Fiat 500 for work purposes as soon as possible as mine had been written off after an accident. The car was sold with a warranty and from the moment I got home and complained to the seller about a lack of pull off power at junctions and excessive smoke I had weeks of dealing with a warranty company to get the car looked at. The seller wasn't willing to take the car back to have his own garage work on it. After some of the fuel jets had been replaced by the warranty company things seemed to be fine. Until whilst I was driving the car there was a massive engine failure. After dealing with the warranty company again and the car not being covered the suspected work I took it to my local garage who said that as it was an internal engine problem and was concerned about the costs they suggested the best option was to take the car to Fiat and see what options we had. My wife contacted Ashley Autos who weren't interested and said that he'd sold loads of Fiat 500s in the past and had never had this kind of problem (a bit of a change from his previous story!). I would never buy another car from Ashley Autos again and I believe they sold the car knowing full well that there was problems. I would strongly advise caution if you decide to buy one of their cars.
