Sold car that was unroadworthy
Bought a Car from AWB Motor Company Charlesworth May 2018, very soon after collecting we identified some issues with the car . AWB agreed to attend to these issues under the RAC warranty, We retuned the car to AWB Charlesworth as they gave the impression that the warranty work had to be done though them, a week later we had not heard anything so we chased AWB however AWB blamed the Dukinfield based garage that they use for the delay, when we contacted the garage and they blamed AWB. It then turned out that our car which we had just paid £4500 for had been left on a supermarket carpark unattended for a week. When they finally got round to looking at our car the first issue with the clutch was never resolved properly, the second issues of a squealing noise from the back was put down to a wheel bearing. The wheel bearing was replaced under the RAC warranty (but after speaking to the RAC the garage had put a false claim in for a new heater fan??). When the car was returned it was making the same noise from the back, as we where concerned about the noise and transporting our young children in the car we took the car to our normal and very trusted garage who very quickly told us not to use the car. It turned out that the back breaks where doing nothing. My mechanic said it had been like this for sometime and was unroadworthy costing £330 to put right. The mechanic also said that the Dukinfield based garage must have removed the back breaks to fit the new wheel bearing and re-fitted the non working, non roadworthy breaks. Following this we had several issues with the car including a faultily turbo, In total we have spent the best part of £2000 and still uncovering problems.
