MOT FAILURE
WARNING…WARNING…WARNING… If you are considering buying a car from Holbrooke Motor Company in Newport I seriously advise you to take someone who is mechanically savvy to check the car over thoroughly for faults etc as the cars are NOT checked before hand. I was personally told that the owner wasn’t interested in the cars. I was decided and sold a MOT failure that had all warning lights removed from the console and subsequently the car failed the MOT. When it was pointed out to HMC who at first relinquished responsibility citing its an old car, their attitude was…what do you expect, its a high maintenance car? I had to go through CAB to get any resolve. After a couple of months HMC agreed to repair a small part of the problem but the replacement part was also faulty so they took even longer and the console was eventually replaced with a inferior unit. The unit now in place now shows the gravity of the faults with the car that should never have been sold in such a condition in the first place. Now I am left with a worthless car that will cost more to repair and make safe than I paid. It is uneconomical and unviable to make good and essentially I am £1000’S out of pocket and carless. Caveat Emptor is the order of the day especially when buying a second had car from Holbrooke Motor Company. You have been warned.
