Don't buy from these

Purchased a Peugeot 207 diesel from Carwhinley Cars last August 2017 with nine months MOT. They promised to carry out a safety check and repair scratched paintwork before delivery. I stupidly paid cash. They held the car for a week and when it was delivered there was no sign of any work having been done to the vehicle. No paper work to confirm work done. They said this work was carried out by Gates garage Ltd but Gates deny this ever happened. The car engine stopped on three occasions without explanation and failed its MOT in May 2018 with a broken rear suspension spring and failed front brake. I have had the work carried out at considerable expense because both rear springs had to be replaced. The mechanic said that the broken spring was broken long before I bought the car from Carwhinley. I would not go near this bunch of rogues again. Having written to Mr Lightfoot on numerous occasions and having phoned till I lost count I could not get a response from him. Definitely one to avoid. It was my intention to take him to County Court but have been advised that I have probably left it too late especially since I have had the repair work carried out. I have been told I should not have undertaken the repairs because it has weakened my case. Apparently that's how the law works.
