Major Oil leak after full service!!
I fell in love with my Mini Copper S at first sight and bought it on my first viewing and test drive. When I collected it from Stephen James Mini Ruxley there were a few minor issues, slight chip in the bonnet and scuffed alloys which I was reassured would be rectified, this wasn’t the case. I was asked to bring the car back and was promised a complete new alloy. I arrange a time and date but no joy. The alloy was touched up, no new wheel. The car had been running fine and went in for a full service on Monday 20th August., I didn’t receive a call to say the car was ready and received a text message after I’d dropped the car reminding me to bring my license when dropping my car for a service on the 21st!! The car was only driven again on the Wednesday and when I took it out for a day out on 24th August things went wrong very quickly!! A mile from home the car made a strange noise and a warning appeared stating ‘low engine pressure ‘ and I stopped the car immediately. Engine oil was pouring out from underneath the engine. A recovery truck took as to the dealers. When loaded and unloaded yet more oil poured out and the car was started on numerous occasions which Makes me concerned for the condition of my engine. This seems a little too coincidental that I had issues with the engine/oil when it was only in 4 days previous!! Were all the checks done after changing oil and filters etc!! Was the sump plug retightened correctly? I am waiting on an update and would like assurance that this has not damaged my car. I understand that things do go wrong with cars but I’m not satisfied with the service I’ve received so far. Now Tuesday 28th August still haven’t heard anything. Have contacted Mini UK to raise my concerns and Stephen James Mini and contacted the AA for legal advice.
