Poor knowledge and over priced
I bought a series 1 E51 Elgrand from GLC Autos in September of 2017. The van has only had 1 issue since purchase and that was the front bushes which are quite common. The problem with GLC is the extreme lack of knowledge from the salesman and the very steep prices they charge. Richard the salesman, appears to know what he is talking about however it is just typical used car salesman patter. When I questioned him about the catalytic converter problem, he knew nothing whatsoever about it. Richard also knew nothing about the recalls, what they were for and where to find the information on if they have been done. He also knew nothing of the rear window issues they suffer with. I was also told my van would be valeted for me, it clearly was not. Old Japanese toys left in there, some yen, something sticky on the rear seats and a stain on the carpet. GLC charge ALOT for their vehicles, and coupled with this lack of knowledge I would not recommend them to anyone. If you search and travel you can get a better vehicle, for less, from a better dealer NOT a private vendor, for example I now know of another dealer (who dealt with my front bush issue) who on every Elgrand they sell, they FULLY service them, change the bushes, inform you about the recalls and other niggles they have and most importantly they deal with the catalytic converter problem so you don't have to. As I stated, I have had no major issues with my Elgrand, however next time I will be going elsewhere for a vehicle.
