Be wary of this guy
Bought a car from PD Cars recently. It started off well, as they went out of their way to let me see the car. Actually drove it to my house and took me on a test drive. The car had obvious alert lights showing on the dashboard, in particular the ABS breaks and the steering. I was assured by the dealer that this would all be sorted out before I got the car, and he would prep it for sale. The day came for me to purchase and the alert lights were still showing. The car was also scruffy and hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. There was even a piece of slimy banana stuck to the plastic on the passenger side and god knows what wedged in the window, I was assured by the guy that he would sort the issues the following week. He said he had done a few things to sort the car and just had to take it to a garage to get the computer updated. On top of this, the car was advertised as having 84000 miles on the clock, when I bought it, it was nearly 88500. Obviously he’d been using the car himself quite substantially in the meantime. The next week came and I didn’t hear a peep, I had to chase him 3 times and he advised I would have to wait till the following week. Again no contact, so I called again and became more insistent he book it it. Low and behold he finally got back to me and said it was confirmed for the following Monday. I’ve had to go out of my way to get this car sorted, something that should have been sorted before I purchased it. On top of this, when the guy took the car in, instead of returning it straight to me, he had the audacity to tell me he’d been driving it around all day and that there were no more issues!! He said it was better he drove it than for me to have to go back. For some reason he failed to understand why I wasn’t happy about this, and that I shouldn’t be unhappy about ‘a little bit of fuel’. The fact he should have contacted me straight away to tell me my car was ready seemed irrelevant to him. He’s lied about lots of things he originally told me, he backtracks on things and tries to make out he’s doing you a favour, I recorded everything he said so he couldn’t back down, I don’t believe for a second that he only needed to get the computer sorted, the fact he refused to show me the paperwork of the car repair proves this. The guy is shifty, and now I realise I can’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth. Don’t be taken in by the false niceness like I was, I’m too trusting for my own good!, Make sure he’s sorted everything before you hand over any money.
