Complete nightmare place. NEVER AGAIN
The only good thing about this place, is the First Response signs on top of the cars they are selling. Because these guys done a very good job to solve a big part of the problems we had with the car and with the manager director of this dealership. This so called RAC warranty that comes with the car, was absolutely useless as well. Does not cover a lot. In February this year, we bought here an Audi A6 Allroad. OK, it was a 55 plate, not new, but you would expect a half decent car for £4000, and in the back of your mind, you think you have a good warranty cover, because it is a RAC dealership, and an extended warranty of 24 months for £500, that does not cover anything at all, with the problems we had with this car, but you think you are ok. The salesman that sold us the car, was a nice chap, done his part of the job as good as he could, but new in the trade, not a clue about cars, but the guy did a reasonable job. We collected the car on the Wednesday, and on the Thursday after, I had to attend a course in Aberdeen, and guess what, Thursday morning at 5.30 I needed a jump start, because the battery was flat. Right from the beginning, when we where driving the car, we had gearbox issues. I contacted the dealership, and he told me to get in touch with RAC, because we had the warranty there. A complete nightmare, because this was not covered in the warranty. I did get in touch with citizens advice, and the finance company to solve this problem. Two diagnostics in two workshops, and a £1700 quote to fix the car, and this was not covered. I did manage to get it fixed for £187, including the part, and did pay for that one. But when it was on the ramp for fixing the gearbox issue, the mechanic made me aware of a serious leak from the steering rack. Again phone, again the way with RAC, and again a nono cover wise. So the car went back to the dealership, thanks to a very good job of First Response, the finance company. For some reason, it is very hard for Deryck, to keep his staff. His wife, is not an example for being costumer friendly. The manager director himself a complete useless person, that tries to talk down people, and thinks he gets away selling cars with an RAC sign on top of the cars, with a absolute useless warranty. He has a good selection of cars, I must admit, for reasonable prices, but as soon as there is an issue, the first thing that comes out of his mouth is, phone RAC. He is not even bothered to try to fix things in his own workshop. People that buy a car in this place, without problems, will say the place is ok to buy. What I am saying is, be carefull and be aware. This place has a very bad reputation here in the Broxburn area. I only did found this out too late. From now on, I check out reviews about dealers, before I go in and buy a car. We did end up with loads of frustration, over a week no car, costs for taxi's, cancellation fee of the insurance, and not the joy people should have, when you buy a car. People, be aware of this dealership. For me, NEVER AGAIN.
