Purchased a 2010 Vauxhall Astra in November 2014, part exchanged my BMW 5 series, total cost of around 6.5K. Astra was CAT C but had been put back on the road and had a new MOT. Within days it developed a number of serious faults which left it undrivable for 3 weeks until eventually SJB agreed to repair, this took 4 week, in which time they provided me with a less than suitable hire car, I only got this after sending a letter from my Solicitor. Got the car back mid January and it still has 30 remaining electrical fault, a buckled whel which it did not have when it went back, water in the headlight, a worn drive shaft and bearing... the list goes on. Since 19th Jan Scott and Gary have been almost impossible to get hold of. Every call end up the same, both claiming to call back and knowing very little about the issues. I live 4 hours away otherwise would have gone to their premise by now. Currently stuck with a card I can't drive requiring several hundred pounds of repairs, Made over 100 phone calls, mainly unanswered, sent a number of email and written letters, but not firm response, SJB keep promising to send a cheque and sort this out, but nothing has been done several weeks later. Trading standards are uselsee. Sent 3 letters to SJB which remain unanswered so have no option but to repair the car at my cost whilst I now start HM Court Proceedings. Have also filled a complaint with DVLA as they sold the car with tax. Complaint also filled with VOSA as the MOT I believe was suspect, 1 bald tyres, 2 x missing wheel nuts and rear pads worn past wear indicator. Although they did not do the MOT the arranged and paid for it at a local garage.
