Full check over vechicle before you buy

Initially a great service very helpful and willing to negotiate on price. They agreed to refurb the wheels and touch up some of the paint work as agreed which they did. However after collecting the car i soon realised it was fitted with km speedometer! This is boarderline illegal i was told by multiple Mercedes specialists and was forced to pay over £700 to get this issue fixed. I was told prior to this that this dealer full checks overs there cars however this is clearly not the case as it was a massive oversight. Yes its an older car so its expected to have wear and tear however for a dealership to sell a top of the range SL55 AMG which such an issue to a paying customer is disgusting and i was shocked when i realised. When i contacted the sales person who had sold me the car, the once helpful person replied with ‘’We apologise for this situation. Will be more aware in the future. Enjoy ur new car! ’’ which i think is shocking as i believe they should have contributed towards fixing.
