Caravan not roadworthy

We bought a year 2000 caravan for £3,300 and was assured all the checks had been done. In the last 12 months we’ve replaced the cooker as it wasn’t getting up to temperature. The fire never worked properly and we’ve had to replace the control switch. The boiler leaked and we’ve had to rebuild it. We had to replace the toilet flush as it stopped working. We had to replace the tap as the water was only trickling out. We’ve just experienced problems with the towing and when checked the brakes, they are worn to the metal and completely dangerous. This wear hasn’t happened in 12 months and over the few times we’ve used the caravan. The gas leaked from the fittings in the front locker. The tyres are 5 years out of date. I know it was an old van, but we expected it to be roadworthy and legal. We were assured it was serviced when we picked it up, but these problems prove otherwise. We have booked the caravan in for a service and it has been failed due to safety reasons.
