bought a mini Cooper for £2490, after being knocked down from 2650, because of a few chips and dents which they failed to mention on the advert, turns out it had an oil leak, then after running fine for a month the head gasket, timing chain, catalitic converser had to be changed, spilling coolant everywhere, this has all be confirmed by a good mechanic that they have toyed with the car in order to make it run for a couple of months.
