Scammed with deposit

I was interested in a car, I was advised by the salesman to leave a deposit as there were lots of interest in the car I was looking at. I paid with my debit card however it transpired they took more than was agreed and are now refusing to return the deposit or the over payment taken without authorisation. when I continued to ask for my deposit back the sales men became aggressive and rude so I left and contacted the bank and police....... stay clear of this place if you want a car that is roadworthy and a decent level of customer service.
