Purchased a vehicle for ‘top dollar’ with FSH and low mileage expecting a reliable car from City Cars Enfield. Two weeks later the gearbox valve body went. Three weeks after that the swirl flap motor needed to be replaced. Now I’m having to fit a new engine in the vehicle and my mechanic has taken picture s to show just how many faults there are with the car including a break in the alternator bracket and an incorrectly fitted bolt on the chassis and broken bolt holding the alternator in place. The manager is rude and became very defensive when being told he needed to replace the valve body (this was under dealership warranty due to the lack of time lapsed from buyimg the vehicle) but he failed to provide any paper work for the repair because (and in his words) he would have to pay VAT for the repair and the repair was already expensive enough. This dealership commits to nothing in writing and have no idea of what after sales service should look like. On top of the £8k paid for the vehicle I’ve now paid a further £4K in repairs. CityCars Enfield are a disgrace and should be made to cease trading. I also note that the company is listed as dissolved on Companies House.
