Avoid buying from this dealer
I bought a Peugeot 207, 07 plate in August 2017 from David Wright Motors. The flyer said: 3 month warranty; 83000 on clock; Serviced at 82800; rear parking sensors (there are none) I asked for a reduction on the £2300 price tag and was told no because anything on the car would be repaired before I took it. I asked to wave the £89 admin fee and was told no as this was for the warranty. The remote/key was broken, the air con didn't work and the rear wiper blade cover was missing. After a week of having the car, the promised new key and wiper blade had not appeared. The service light was coming up on the dash as being due in 1000miles. When I checked the service manual the service was done at 74600 not 82800 as stated on the flyer. So ok I can live with that I'll get it serviced and claim on the warranty if anything comes up. Went through the documents and found no warranty but what I did find was my signature (copy of my signature) on "an unroadworthy car sale invoice" & "sold as is no warranty". I DID NOT SIGN SUCH A DOCUMENT! I have asked via email, in person and by letter to see the original sales document that i signed, that was witnessed by my friend but this has not been produced. I phoned the garage and said what I found and was told to email which I did. A week later by phone (i had no written acknowledment or response to my email) I was promised a warranty and a key. None of which has appeared. The car then developed a severe leak when I took it to be washed. This was fixed when I took it back to the dealer demanding my money back, which the dealer declined. So after 5 emails, to which I have had no reply & a 6 page letter which was hand delivered (saying that trading standards and citizens advice had said under consumer law I am entitled to my money back-or i will take them to court) i still have had no reply. So now I have had the service done, (which brought up that I needed new discs and brake pads), air con recharged, new key & wiper cover. I am now £450 out of pocket. As promised in my letters and emails, that I have had no response to, I am forced to go to small claims court. I would not recommend this garage and have given 1 star grudgingly as I do actually like the car. Be aware to check and double check everything before handing any money over, even if you have someone with you as I did at every visit to the dealer.
