Incompetent
I was charged over two hundred pounds by Allen Ford Swindon for two hours labour to diagnose what I told them was a diesel knock on a Ford Focus tdci. After paying the bill I read the report. It said " inconclusive fault possibly with the injectors, 2 & 4 injectors have been recently replaced so possibly 1 & 3 injectors may need replacing. A new timing belt has also recently been fitted so it is unlikely to be the problem. Injector coding has been done". "Done"?? What does that mean? Checked or rectified? What kind of idiot do I appear, yes I know the timing belt was changed because I looked unlike the tech who read it in my service book. I know for certain that the belt cover had not been touched. I had the injectors pulled and tested (elsewhere) to be told that all the injectors were reasonably new 2&4 were very new but they were operating outside the diesel knock sensor parameters. A recode is required. I went back to Allen Ford for a complementary recheck to confirm the second opinion, they of course are not interested. The only reason I went to this dealership is because they had the diagnostics and I didn't.
