Carbuyer

Just awful

SO MANY NEGATIVES WITH THIS PURCHASE FROM PRIORY MOTOR CO! After viewing the car, I put down a holding fee and then picked the car up and paid a week later so that it could be MOTd before I picked it up. During that week, the dealer contacted me to say the car had passed the MOT no problems. After I had paid and taken the documents away however, the car had actually failed and then been put through the MOT again until it passed. So already I felt like maybe I couldn't trust the car. I contacted the dealer again the day after purchase because I was unable to tax the car online, therefore unable to drive it. The dealer was very rude to me on the phone, and told me that it was still taxed under his name so any cameras would pick up that it was taxed so it would be fine to drive it until I could get it taxed at a post office- THIS IS ILLEGAL!! What a joke. Five days after purchase, the car started to make a noise when turning corners, my local garage diagnosed it as a faulty wheel bearing which needed replacing. I did not expect to be carless (as the car had to go into the garage to be fixed) after five days of buying a new car at over £5000! The dealer did pay for the wheelbearing to be replaced but wouldn't pay for the sensor, which meant I was £80 out of pocket, having just bought the car. Then four months since purchase, the car broke down completely and was undriveable. I had to use my breakdown service to get me to my local garage, I was carless for another week and then had to pay £720 for the timing chain to be replaced. The garage said I was lucky that the timing chain hadn't caused any damage to the engine itself. I now have no peace of mind that this car is reliable, and have only had it 4 months. I can see now why people say NEVER to buy a car from an independent dealer. I only wish I had heard this advice before I did!
