I had paid the deposit of £500 for a used car from Emmer Green Garage over the phone, after finding out that the car was manual and not automatic, we decided not to proceed with the purchase as the automatic gear box was essential for us. I spoke to salesman and was promised to receive a call back to provide an update on the refund of the deposit, and reminded him to send me the receipt and terms and condition of the payment, but never happened. I also spoke to his colleague over the phone who promised to leave a message to follow up my query. This was after several over attempts to contact, when I also left several messages with him before. This is a very big and essential purchase for us and we have scraped together every last penny we have to make it. Our current car broke down and as we are expecting twins very soon and already have two older children we really need to buy a car asap. Furthermore, we were promised to be posted a receipt for the deposit which we did not receive therefore were not aware of the terms and conditions of the deposit. They have not kept open communication with us despite promising to speak to the manager and get back to us. Carelessness service not: 1) Making me aware of the terms and condition of the sale\deposit 2) Not sending a receipt for the deposit 3) Not keeping open communications 4) Not refunding the paid deposit When I spoke the SEAT UK head office, said we can't do anything as its sales matter and we did't get involved!
