I took the usual initial lies with a roll of the eyes, ’I’m losing money selling it at the price it’s on for,’ etc, etc. Started to get a little irritating when I got a lot of calls in the week before I picked up the car, ‘My manager didn’t put it in the diary when you we’re coming in to sign the finance,’ ‘What time are you coming to pick up the car?’ ‘Can we change the time you’re coming to pick up the car?’ What time did we say you’re coming to pick up the car?’ You get the idea. It really turned to harassment after I’d bought the car. Despite having paperwork demonstrating I’d paid for the car in full, I started getting calls demanding a further £200. These included emotional blackmail, ‘If you don’t pay another £200 they will take it out of my wages,’ (they told me they were an honest family business – guess that was another lie) and also ‘If you’re an honest customer I’m sure you’ll come in any pay another £200.’ I’ve had to block them calling me again.
