Avoid!
Paid £10,400 for a BMW 3 series from Stoughton Car Sales. Test drove fine, had a look under the bonnet aux pulleys looked rusty, asked to be checked before purchase, told all good. Day the car was collected CD player didn't work, arranged to be fixed all good, so I thought. Just over a week later my wife and 10 month old son out shopping, leaves the car park car dies. I leave work early to go and help, look under the bonnet, front pulley has shattered made spaghetti out of the belts leaving the car undriveable. Called to speak to the manager, understandably I'm slightly angry, but not rude or swearing, salesman puts me through to manager but not before he has told him there's a "mr angry" on the phone, didn't have the nouse to put me on hold properly. Car is recovered and pulleys and belts replaced under warranty. Week or so later car in to fix CD player, cannot be done CD player removed and sent off car returned with no CD player. Car goes back in a week later for CD player to be refitted, comes back with sat nav no longer working. Various phone calls later with promised call backs on progress that never materialise, the young lad who I dealt with has 0 customer service skills, i decide to return the car as unfit for purpose, this being now 6 weeks since the car was collected. I'm told to return the car for inspection. Fine, I pay 100 for a professional valet inside and out so the car is as it was when I purchased. Offered £9400 as there is curbing to the wheels, now I should have mentioned that when the car was in the showroom before even test driving the front wheels were curbed, I pointed out to my wife that we should have them fixed to make the car look immaculate. I query this, and I'm told they had them refurbished when they acquired the car, a full 6 months before I purchased it. So I refuse that offer and I'm told the manager is away so I can't talk to someone who actually knows what's going on, as there is no one of authority when the manager is away. I do my research and speak to trading standards, after telling them this they add another £500 making their return offer £9900, I decide to accept just to get rid of the car and the absolutely shocking customer service that we had endured. I'm sorry for the long review but context is everything! Please avoid, if not before you buy a car from them, take as many pictures and videos as you can, and maybe get an independent vehicle inspection! The car is still for sale today, a full 10 months after we initially bought it!
