Mr P
Extremely disappointed
We went to John Keeble Bramford after seeing many positive reviews both online and by word of mouth. We purchased a Kia Ceed from them at the end of December 2016 and were expecting a positive experience. We are now feeling the complete opposite and would never buy a car from them ever again. Firstly the car had some minor faults that we felt should have been rectified prior to us picking the car up. A front sidelight bulb was out, the front washers were partially blocked and very poor and the rear washers were completely blocked. A piece of trim on the centre console was broken. We pointed this out prior to purchase and were promised that this would be fixed (it was also noted on the sales receipt). It took 3 months of chasing them to get this broken trim sorted. They never replied to phone messages left. They never replied to emails sent. They never called back when they promised they would. They came up with various excuses as to why it couldn't be done ie it's the New Year break, they sent the wrong part, it's on back order etc. They told us (at least twice) to pop over and get it fitted. Luckily we phoned first to ask whether or not they actually had the part. They never did. They could of let us know to save a wasted journey. Meanwhile I found the car to have a stiff gearbox that didn't like going into 1st, 2nd or reverse gear. On testing it (twice) they informed me that there was nothing wrong with the car. The problem persisted. The third time I called them about this they wanted me to take the car over and go out for a drive with them to identify the problem. This I found rather patronising. In the meantime I did some research and found that this is a common problem on the Kia Ceed and that it is simply the way the car is (poor design?). Surely they knew this and could of just said that that is the nature of this car and that they are all like it. Instead they tried to insist that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car. On a further note: the salesman put the incorrect postcode on the car registration document change of details form. Luckily I spotted this as he wrote it. On picking the car up he did the car tax online whilst I was there and put the wrong Reg number onto the DVLA website. Again it is lucky that I spotted this. On finally getting the broken trim fixed at the end of March we received an apology from one member of staff but the one who actually dealt with us couldn't even be bothered to apologise for the never ending cockups. I shall be steering well clear of John Keeble in the future and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They couldn't care less. As we told them: their customer service is disgusting.
