Disgruntled C
VW Review
Bought a VW car on the 24th December 2016 from Harvey Lane Car Sales. I had a test drive and noticed the brake light was on all the time; the salesman said it was due to new brake pads being fitted. I continued with the sale and part exchanged our car. I was told by Harvey Lane Car Sales that the VW came with one year MOT but not until Mid January of 2017. Surprise surprise i got a call the next day saying that the car was ready with new MOT, and did the part exchange. The brake light was still on in the VW. I contacted the salesman via phone, who suggested driving the car back to Norwich to sort the problem. His Mechanic, Harvey Lane, put 1.5L of brake fluid in and said vehicle should be okay, it wasn't okay. I contacted the salesman, who arranged recovery and repairs as we had no brakes at all. The damage was on the rear side brake caliper; the salesman paid for this repair. We then asked our trusted Mechanic to check the vehicle, The faults he found were: 1. Anti roll bar bushes worn out (MOT Failure) 2. Stabilizer link bars (x2) worn out (MOT Failure) 3. Track Rod end (Driver side) worn out (MOT Failure) 4. Headlights (Driver side) were facing skywards, Passenger side head light shone on the floor (MOT Failure) We have spent £300.00 of our own money to make this vehicle safe and legal. My suggestion would be to employ a professional Mechanic and be careful where he takes cars for MOT, we have all the parts that have been replaced. The vehicle was not returned under warranty as we did not trust any work done by their Mechanic.
