Excellent service with fair price

I had been badly let down by a rogue trader some 80 miles from Didcot having travelled nearly 170 miles to collect a car and saw S.C Car Centre advertising on-line a similar model Qashqai advertised at a recently reduced price. I phoned the manager and promised to be there just before closing, certain to pay his asking price if he could promise it was in the excellent condition described. Having reassured me, I made the journey and satisfied me I arrived much later than I thought and soon satisfied myself of the value for money of my potential purchase, before it became apparent that three of the internal door handles failed to work properly. I was happy that this was not subterfuge on the part of the dealership and their fitter explained that it is a fault common to this make and model and we spent a quarter of an hour on-line together while he showed me how I could obtain parts at a fraction of the cost that Nissan would require and also reassured himself that I had sufficient knowledge and experience to fit them myself. Although it was later the work of just an hour and cost me just £66.00 on amazon to buy 3 door handles something known to the garage. The owner was fair minded enough to agree to my suggestion that I be allowed a discount of £200 from the price since a Nissan dealership would have charged this for their manufacturer supplied parts alone. This left me with a first class buy and a feeling of having been dealt with fairly for the first time in ages by a car dealership. Congratulations and thanks to all concerned.
