Sovereign Trading A Top Class Experience
If you are looking for flash showrooms, pushy sales approach, nicely turned out assistants, skinny lattes and croissants, then Sovereign Trading is not for you! However if you are seeking a good quality motor from an honest dealer, then you are in the right space. Hopefully the following will confirm for you . Living in Ireland I had been researching a 2009/10 motor in the UK for some time. I had earmarked one example at Sovereign Trading. Armed with a few examples I travelled to the UK with the intention of purchasing one of them. Having travelled down to Pevensey by train from London I was collect by Danny and his son. To be honest I was taken aback by the ‘showroom’ (which is essentially a farmyard!) and the lack of normal car showroom paraphernalia but the car seemed decent as did Danny ,although he wouldn’t go out of his way to try and charm you! I looked at a couple of other cars in more salubrious surroundings, in the following days but despite my reservations decided to go with the Sovereign car. Having carried out the normal checks I travelled down and was again collected at the station. In chatting thru the 3 month gtee Danny was offering , I indicated to Danny that I would be dependent on his word, as realistically it would be difficult for me to enforce the guarantee once I crossed the Irish sea! Money paid and car in ownership I headed for London, stopping c 15 mins into the journey for diesel and nibbles. When I got back into car, much to my horror, the drivers seat belt would not release, so that I could engage it. Filled with anxiety and annoyance at not noticing, I called Danny, half expecting to be ignored or given the brush off. I needn’t have worried. Danny established where I was and was with me < 20 mins and proceeded to try and resolve the issue. Un fortunately after c 30 mins trying he could only effect a temporary fix to get me on my way, as I was heading home first thing Sunday morning. While Danny was at pains to tell me to get it fixed at home and let him know the cost, I was saying to myself ‘Good luck with that son’ as I reckoned once I was out of the UK, Danny’s interest would wane pretty quickly! How wrong I was! Unfortunately the diagnosis for the seat belt belt was terminal but Danny was good to his word and engaged fully with me. There was lots of toing and froing including Danny purchasing a new part from UK main dealer and shipping to Ireland but it was wrong part and had to be returned. In the end matter was sorted with Danny making a sizeable financial contribution to the purchase and fitting of new belt. I am sure you will agree that this is a testament to Danny and his character, as realistically he did not have to stay involved and could have just stopped taking my calls! I cant thank him enough for his honesty, decency and patience during the process. If I are anyone I know is thinking of purchasing in UK, Danny would be my first port of call. Thank you Danny and Sovereign. Continued: PS I have the car since Oct 1st, driving beautifully and indeed commented on by the NCT (MOT) engineer as being a super car! These guys are not normally prone to such comments. PPS Danny did not ask me to submit this!
