car purchase
Went to look at a vauxhall astra gtc today. The salesman at Vauxhall City started off really nice and friendly and even encouraged me to test drive the car. The pressure started on return from test drive, was told that a deal could only be done (to be agreed by his boss) if i agreed to taking the car, i tried to confirm what deal was on the table and i was told that i had to agree to buy the car first before that was confirmed. I said i wanted to go away and think about it and asked if the "offer" (yet to be confirmed) would still be valid.and basically i was told it was then or never and he then went on to tell me that i couldn't afford the car and should buy a cheaper one. it was then he tried to push me into taking finance that i later found out after looking online was a one off 6% fee and then an APR only to be arranged if i agreed to having the car. i asked if i could have his number to which he just said look on the site and when i asked for his name he didnt give it...then just turned and walked off. no handshake as good gesture or anything. i think i'll hold on to my money until a more suitable one comes up and at a more realistic price than what they were asking with above average mileage, scuffs to the rear bumper, a dent by the drivers door amongst others. and they're overpriced compared to similar cars.
