Customer not happy

Bought an Audi A3 2005 Grey 5 door for son recently advertised with full service history only 2 owners and recently serviced and recent MOT. Turns out! 3 owners and Audi UK can only confirm 4 of the services in the book as being genuine There is also no record of the cam/timing belt being changed in the suggested service bookat 53494 miles of 05/07/13 . Norwich Audi have confirmed no such work was carried out. Ipswich Audi also stated that the car had not had a service on 07/01/15 at 74347 miles but was in for repair on the date indicated in the service book. This now suggests the last proper service was carried out by SEAT Ipswich on 18/11/2013 some 3 years ago, other than a basic oil change by Halfords on the 14/03/16. The MOT certificate issued on 24th November 2016 declares no advisories. I had the car checked at a local garage due to a worrying knocking noise appearing from the front end within one day of purchase, discovered that both anti roll bar upper gates are split and the car is an automatic MOT failure. The knocking sound from the front end has been diagnosed as possible impending flywheel failure. Also advised due to the lack of service history and confirmation from Audi Norwich that the cam/timing belt was not replaced at 53494 mile and no records indicating since that date, an immediate cam/timing belt and water pump replacement is highly advisable. On advising Runabouts via email and phone they did offer a full refund, however this purchase cost us around £100 to have the car insured/taxed/fuel and they offered no compensation for our wasted time or expense. • Consumer Rights Act replaces the Sale of Goods Act • Buyers allowed to claim full refund if car turns out to be faulty within 30 days • If defect found within six months, buyers entitled to a repair or replacement Few days later car advertised again with same claim of full service history and new MOT.
