Charged for Incomplete Job
In April my converible was booked in to correct a soft top malfunction. I was told the relays needed testing as diagnosis but that their machine was broken and to return 48 hours later. I was charged £90 to disassemble and reassemble the car with no outcome. I returned two days later, as booked in, to be told the engineer wasn't there. I tried again to re-book and was shocked to be told I would be classed as a new customer and charged £90 yet again just to get as far as I'd already paid for. My objection to the unfairness was referred to the Operations Manager who refuses to communicate with me. Wanting the job done I conceded, in writing, to Hitchfields' terms but all efforts to re-book go ignored. On 4 June I emailed the Operations Manager with detailed evidence of the position and calling for the return of £90 as Hitchfields is clearly not prepared to honour the work it commenced and refuses to complete. Total silence. Not a company to be trusted.
