Let me start by saying if I could give minus stars I would have!!!!! This used car dealer is a liar. The car I bought had an issue before I bought it, which he told me it was a minor fault and he would fix it. I believed in this used car dealer Don and waited for the fault to be fixed and then I bought the car. When what I thought to be a minor fault re occurred I didn’t get it seen to straight away due to ill heath. When I finally had the time to get this ( what I thought to be) minor issue sorted out, I went to my local Volkswagen dealer and was going to pay for this myself. It turns out that the original fault was a much bigger fault than this used car dealer had lead me to believe and this fault had re occurred in his warranty time. It was a control panel which costs about £1000 for just the part. Don went for the cheaper option of just changing a battery to be able to switch the warning light off. Once Volkswagen confirmed that this was not a minor issue I contacted Don to tell him that the issue had re occurred and it had happened in the warranty period as confirmed by Volkswagen. He offered to pick the car up and take it to the garage where they had the work done before. I requested for the work to be carried out by the Volkswagen dealers where the car had been diagnosed with the real problem. At this point Don seemed to get very frustrated, angry and loud, I was told that I shouldn’t have taken it to the Volkswagen dealer and that I should have let him pick the car up. Then he continue to send text messages to say that he would pick the car up and have it repaired at the same garage that he used before, then he said he would contribute to the work and leave it with the Volkswagen dealer. early the following morning I had a text to say that I’ve had the car for six months and I have not contacted him and it is not his problem. I told him the reason was due to my ill health and believe that this Re occurring fault was a simple fix and that I was willing to pay for it myself. This man is not a man of his word, how can he choose to not help when it is clearly down to him? I bought the car in good faith on the 9th of January 2025 the fault re occurred on the 23rd of March 2025 in Don’s warranty period. Volkswagen diagnostic only fix to correct the re occurring issue is to replace the control panel. The reason Don didn’t want me to take my vehicle to the main dealers is because the real issue was diagnosed.
