Disappointing Experience – Wouldn't Use Again We bought our car nearly a month ago, and the entire experience has been far from great. What should have been an exciting time quickly turned into a stressful ordeal. We were torn between two cars—a hybrid from Arnold Clark and a petrol vehicle from another dealership. One of the key deciding factors was Arnold Clark’s offer of a discounted EV charger installation. However, after speaking with the third-party installer, we were told we weren’t eligible for the offer. They could install it—but at double the quoted price. This is something Arnold Clark should have been fully aware of and communicated from the start. Next came issues with the extended warranty and service plan. I provided my payment details over the phone (with the call recording paused), but five days went by with no payment taken. When I followed up via email, I was told the payment was being processed “as we speak.” Days later, the full amount was refunded to my account. I then received a call explaining they couldn’t process such a large payment over the phone—something that had never been mentioned previously. Where my payment details were stored during that time remains unclear. Even the small things were frustrating. When we came to collect the car and choose our free gift, the cupboard was locked and no one had a key. Honestly, I now wish we’d gone with the petrol car from the other dealership—the buying experience there was far more professional and pleasant. I won’t be using Arnold Clark again and will actively discourage others from doing so as well.
