Lies and false advertisement

Extremely Disappointed – Misleading Sales Tactics I saw a car listed by Motor Match Chester on Auto Trader and called to ask about its condition. I spoke to Shane, who assured me twice that the car was in “fantastic” condition. I even received a video that seemed to support his claims. Based on this, I paid a £500 deposit and travelled 6 hours from Glasgow to Chester by train and taxi — a trip Shane knew I was making. When I arrived, I was shocked. The car hadn’t even been cleaned — it was dirty, covered in bird droppings, and had clear cosmetic damage to the front bumper, rear tailgate, and rear door. It looked nothing like what was described. When I confronted Shane, his response was, “You don’t need to buy the car if you don’t want to.” Not exactly what you want to hear after a 12-hour round trip. I walked away from the sale, having completely lost trust in both the car and the dealership. Thankfully, the deposit and travel costs were refunded, but the time wasted and frustration caused were significant. If you’re travelling from a distance, be very cautious. My experience was hugely disappointing and could have been avoided with basic honesty.
