Avoid. Untrustworthy sales tactics.
Avoid> Vauxhall Hamiton Rd Avoid. Will try keep this short. We bought a car from Vauxhall Hamilton Rd Glasgow branch. When asked if car had full service history. Was told car was 1 owner who had 4 year lease contract with arnold clark service plan. This tactic gave impression it did and was well cared for by dealer. He said there was 1 stamp missing that was still to be added as car had just been serviced. So all seemed good, i even turned to my partner and said thats good then full service history and all done at same dealer. He should have corrected me , but he didnt. After getting car and eventually getting service paperwirk week later. Found car had missed 1st year service and never had a main service, only oil and oil filter changes. We then found out about how vital an annual service is on a wet belt engine (google it, avoid any car with one if not got full service historty. If we had been aware of this we'd have run ) Due to issues with wet belts the car should have 6 years left of a 10 years warranty, subject to having a full vauxhall service history. This car doesnt. (Note customer services manager informed she wasnt aware of the 10 year warranty on these engines. No comment) Dealer also inputted wrong Mileage on the last service invoice. Wrong by 7k miles. Reason for this error? She said a lazy employee. Wow. (Requested copy of phone call , so can prove these are true) When questioned this as being possibly illegal as discrepancy in mileage records and not disclosed at point of sale, the customer services manager refused to answer or confirm if this was legal. She refused to answer and when i asked for simple yes or no response she kept saying she would cut my call if i didn't stop asking. Too many issues to post here but summary salesman misheld information from us such as car void of warranty and poor service record, complained to customer services and wrote letter of rejection which is our legal right to do so. Beware as it is obviously an Arnold Clark tactic to not say or inform 'Full Service History' , as both customer services and branch manager spoke same speil ' we dont advertise or say cars have a full service history' so beware. So got nowhere with customer services. Branch manager of Hamilton Rd , when a Sales Manager says a car that has only had 3 oil changes in 4 years was Great Service history as his first reason why he was refusing our rejection you know straight away what kind of person you are dealing with. No more comment on him think thats says all you need to know. Escalated complaint to customer services manager who was even worse. Heard so many horror stories about Arnold Clark , but i am speechless about how bad this experience has been. Now having to contact ombudsman as manager of customer service said case closed and there is nonone else above her to complain too. I know for a fact the company are aware of the problems with these wet belt engines, don't let them fool you like they done to me. Avoid would give 0 stars if i could.
