Very Poor salesmanship

Very disappointed after going to test drive a car. Was introduced to Gerry, who said he would drive car out of forecourt. As my husband was going to join me for test run and our little dog was going in boot, Gerry threw the parcel shelf down in the middle of the forecourt. I suggested he put it in the car or under shelter as it had been pouring, but he just shrugged and said it would be fine! I had not even adjusted my seat or had chance to put my seat belt on but he was driving away. There was an awful, overwhelming fishy smell in car and I had to turn windows down. Gerry said it was “just the chemicals”. He appeared to ignore what I said and just kept talking over me. Gerry stopped car in middle of country road at a junction, which was quite frightening, and told me it was safe for me to Get in driver seat. When we drove back. I said, I had not got proper feel for car and would have preferred a longer test drive but he ignored it. After test drive he appeared quite disinterested and I left feeling confused. I sent several emails the following day to make some enquiries, with the attempt to engage in discussion and again felt he was disinterested. I have now bought a more expensive car from a company that I feel actually valued my business. I would not recommend.
